Last Hawaii post

We have had so much fun over the past 3 weeks in Hawaii! We have seen and done so many things! I really hate yhat Sophie won't remember it but we have a TON of pictures to show her her first vacation! We head home tomorrow (Tues) but won't actually arrive until Wed AM. Here are some pictures of the past week and a half...again, I apologize about the number of pictures...

This is Sophie on the boat going to see the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor

The 3 of us in front of the anchor for the USS Arizona

This was Sophie and Big Dave eating in the car when we visited Giovanni's Shrimp Shack on the North Shore

The 3 of us getting ready to board the Mai Tai cruise on Waikiki beach

This one is out of order but it is taken on the memorial on top of the sunken USS Arizona...this was really moving!

Sophie with her Yia Yia and Big Dave on the Mai Tai Sunset Cruise

Enjoying a little more time on the beach under a tree just before her grandparents left

Sophie loves riding on her daddy's shoulders!

Hanging out with Dad on the beach...

Waiting on a wave...

Sophie had had enough of picture taking. I thought this was cute b/c it shows how she acts when she doesn't get her way!

Much happier when she is naked!

Sunning on the beach...look at those thighs!

This is Sophie and Daddy at the beginning of the Manoa Falls hike...of course Daddy had a cup of Starbucks (I'm pretty sure he was the only hiker with coffee!)

Amazing banyon tree in the rainforest

the 3 of us in front of the waterfall, it really was impressive

Manoa Falls

Not sure about the water on this day

Sophie and I went with Daddy to play golf one day. It was Sophie's first to the golf course. This is her getting her first lesson.

Driving the golf cart contemplating the next shot...

Taking a break in the cart

one of the many beautiful flowers in Hawaii

This is the view from the back of our apartment, it is hard to see but you can see the moutains in the background

Mom trying one more time to get a good picture with her lei...she would rather try to eat it than wear it.

Update from Hawaii...

We had a nice Easter this past week and went to a little Lutheran church in Honolulu. It was a really nice service and we enjoyed it. Sophie got a little Easter basket from the Easter Bunny and mommy got to eat lots of chocolate (I gave it up for Lent). We returned today (Thursday)from a wonderful 3 days in Maui. It was amazing! The beach was absolutely beautiful and Sophie loved it! Not many babies can say they turned exactly 7 months old in Maui...Here are pictures from the last week, sorry there are so many! We will try to keep this updated over the next 2 weeks. Hope everyone else had a great Easter!

This is all of us on the balcony of the apartment on Easter morning after church.

Sophie playing with her Easter toys...

Playing on the floor of the apartment

Sophie and Daddy on the beach. This is on the North Shore of O'ahu...this beach is actually one of the best beaches in the world for surfing, it's called Pipeline.

Sophie and YiaYia on the beach.

Loving the beach!

This is where we had dinner on the North Shore...a neat little waterfront restaurant.

There was a beautiful rainbow that we saw on our way back from the North Shore. It was the first rainbow I have ever seen go all the way across the sky. This picture really doesn't do it justice but it was absolutely beautiful!

This is Sophie on the plane to Maui. Again, she did really well although the flight was only about 30 minutes...

We took the "scenic" route to our resort in Maui from the airport. It was a LONG, winding road but some of the views were absolutely amazing! Again, pictures don't really do a lot of this justice.

This is the outside of the restaurant of the resort where we stayed in Maui.

Sunset on the beach our first night in Maui.

Sophie wearing her daddy's undershirt because the breeze got a little chilly...she was so proud!

Playing with Big Dave (We are now using this instead of Papa)

This was the beach on our resort...it was beautiful! The water was really blue and the was a beautiful mountain in the backgroud (it was the island Lanai).

Sophie "chillin" by the pool. Thanks for the adorable bathing suit Aunt Heather but it wont fit much longer...

Sophie putting her toes in the ocean...it was pretty cold but she enjoyed it!

This was in the hotel lobby getting ready for dinner one night...

Having breakfast at a cafe one morning.

This was the view from our porch, I had to take it myself so it is not that great of a picture but it really was beautiful!

By the pool, you can see the ocean right over the bushes...so pretty!

What a little cutie!

This tree is really old (over 135 years) and it is HUGE! It is in the middle of one of the little towns in Maui.

Sophie and her Daddy where we had dinner on Wednesday night at sunset.

Playing peek-a-boo with Yia Yia in the hotel room...she loves this!

In the pool at our apartment...she LOVES the water!

Sunset from our apartment...WOW!
