Update from Hawaii...

We had a nice Easter this past week and went to a little Lutheran church in Honolulu. It was a really nice service and we enjoyed it. Sophie got a little Easter basket from the Easter Bunny and mommy got to eat lots of chocolate (I gave it up for Lent). We returned today (Thursday)from a wonderful 3 days in Maui. It was amazing! The beach was absolutely beautiful and Sophie loved it! Not many babies can say they turned exactly 7 months old in Maui...Here are pictures from the last week, sorry there are so many! We will try to keep this updated over the next 2 weeks. Hope everyone else had a great Easter!

This is all of us on the balcony of the apartment on Easter morning after church.

Sophie and Daddy on the beach. This is on the North Shore of O'ahu...this beach is actually one of the best beaches in the world for surfing, it's called Pipeline.

Sophie and YiaYia on the beach.

Loving the beach!

This is where we had dinner on the North Shore...a neat little waterfront restaurant.

There was a beautiful rainbow that we saw on our way back from the North Shore. It was the first rainbow I have ever seen go all the way across the sky. This picture really doesn't do it justice but it was absolutely beautiful!

This is Sophie on the plane to Maui. Again, she did really well although the flight was only about 30 minutes...

We took the "scenic" route to our resort in Maui from the airport. It was a LONG, winding road but some of the views were absolutely amazing! Again, pictures don't really do a lot of this justice.

This is the outside of the restaurant of the resort where we stayed in Maui.

Sunset on the beach our first night in Maui.

Sophie wearing her daddy's undershirt because the breeze got a little chilly...she was so proud!

Playing with Big Dave (We are now using this instead of Papa)

This was the beach on our resort...it was beautiful! The water was really blue and the was a beautiful mountain in the backgroud (it was the island Lanai).

Sophie "chillin" by the pool. Thanks for the adorable bathing suit Aunt Heather but it wont fit much longer...

Sophie putting her toes in the ocean...it was pretty cold but she enjoyed it!

This was in the hotel lobby getting ready for dinner one night...

Having breakfast at a cafe one morning.

This was the view from our porch, I had to take it myself so it is not that great of a picture but it really was beautiful!

By the pool, you can see the ocean right over the bushes...so pretty!

What a little cutie!

This tree is really old (over 135 years) and it is HUGE! It is in the middle of one of the little towns in Maui.

Sophie and her Daddy where we had dinner on Wednesday night at sunset.

Playing peek-a-boo with Yia Yia in the hotel room...she loves this!

In the pool at our apartment...she LOVES the water!

Sunset from our apartment...WOW!

ALOHA!!!

We finally arrived in Honolulu on Thursday afternoon (night by SC time)! The flight was extremely long but Sophie actually surprised us and did really well. We were so happy to get off of that plane (the flight was ~10 hours)! Jon was supposed to be at work already but he surprised us by meeting us at the airport! It was such a nice surprise! We have only been here a couple of days now and the weather has been a little rainy but we have been able to do some site seeing! Sophie has seen her first beach and actually put her toes in it today and also got in the pool for the first time. We have a lot more fun things planned over the next few weeks! We head to Maui for 3 days on Monday so we will update later! Aloha~

Jon surprised us by meeting us at the airport (he was supposed to be working)! Sophie was so happy to finally see her Daddy after a week!

6 1/2 months old!!!

Sophie is a little more than 6 1/2 months old now! I can't believe how time flys...She now has one cute little bottom tooth and is sitting up all by herself! She also rolls all over the place and "scoots" around. I think she will start crawling any day now. It is so much fun to watch all of her new tricks and watch her grow! Here are some pictures we took over the last couple of days. She loves being outside and really likes the hammock. We are leaving for Hawaii on Thursday morning! Jon is already there and we really miss him! We will post some pictures from Hawaii as soon as we can!

Day at the Zoo!

We went to Riverbanks Zoo on Saturday with Heather and Lawson. We had a great time and the weather was pretty nice (although I could have stood it to be a little warmer). Sophie and Lawson had fun looking at all the animals.

Sophie's first carousel ride!

The koalas are so cute!

Isn't Lawson such a cutie?!?!

Sophie and Lawson together after a little snack!

Lawson and Heather at the petting zoo feeding the goat some yummy goldfish!

Loving the warm weather!

It was nice outside last Thursday so we were outside a good bit. Sophie LOVES being outside and really enjoys the warm weather. These are a few pictures we took outside in the backyard.

She seems to like the hammock...

One of her favorite things to do is suck on her toes
